About DeXMI

Built by mining engineers, for the people who keep mines running.

DeXMI was created with the support of Optimum Geotechnics, whose engineers spent years doing the searching, drafting and checking the agent now takes on.

Who you’ll be talking to

  • Dr Jason Emery

PhD, RPEQ · Director, DeXMI Pty Ltd · Principal Geotechnical Engineer, Optimum Geotechnics

Jason founded Optimum Geotechnics and has over 20 years of operational experience in mining. His ACARP-funded PhD in Mining Geomechanics (UNSW) draws on a validated database of 5,500 case histories from 22 longwall mines.

Why DeXMI exists

The legwork was taking the engineering day

Too much of a mining engineer’s day goes on searching, copying and re-keying: finding the section of a 300-page management plan that answers the question, cloning the last job’s risk assessment, re-running a spreadsheet someone else wrote, copying readings off a field sheet.

DeXMI started with engineers who did that work for years. It is an auditable decision-intelligence platform that takes on the legwork: it works from your site’s own documentation, drafts risk assessments from a curated register, builds the analyses your team repeats and works with your monitoring data in DeXMI Data Core, so people can spend their time on the decisions only they should make.

Today DeXMI takes the legwork. The record it keeps is the start of something longer.

How we build it

Responsible AI, by construction

AI Transcribes. Code Computes. Humans Verify. Always.

  1. People make the calls

The agent drafts, checks and proposes. Nothing it drafts is final until the risk owner accepts it.

  2. Show the working

Every answer shows its sources and each step the agent took, so anyone can check it.

  3. Your data stays yours

Your documents are never used to train models, and the AI providers we use don’t train on them either. The decision record (who accepted, amended or rejected what, and on what basis) is captured only under the feedback-data terms in your agreement, and is never shared across companies.

  4. Security as a programme

Security is run as a programme of controls, checked against the live systems, not as a page of promises.

Optimum Geotechnics

Behind DeXMI: a geotechnical engineering practice

DeXMI was created with the support of Optimum Geotechnics, a geotechnical engineering consultancy in underground coal: roadway and intersection support design, longwall gateroad behaviour, rib performance, monitoring and geotechnical hazard management, for operations in Queensland’s Bowen Basin. DeXMI itself is run by DeXMI Pty Ltd (ACN 701 953 764).
